The Bills

Ok, we lied! We told everyone SLOfolks was done and finished after forty years of presenting live music . BUT, after our last show in November with Peppino D’Agostino, we made a secret pack to do ONE MORE FINAL OUTDOOR SHOW featuring one of our all-time favorite ensembles, Canada’s amazing super roots group, The Bills. Being outdoors will allow more friends to join us in celebration of what SLOfolks has accomplished over the last four decades!

The Bills are the legendary powerhouse of folk/roots/world music hailing from Canada. With two previous JUNO nominations and multiple Western Canadian Music Awards under their belts, expect the musical magic you’ve come to love from this extraordinary quintet. The Bills are renowned for their instrumental virtuosity, lush vocal arrangements, evocative songwriting, and a refreshing sound that transcends musical boundaries and defies simple categorization.

Their latest release, Yes Please, features some of The Bills’ finest songwriting to date. The previous two albums, Let Em Run and All Day Every Day, each garnered JUNO nominations and various awards for outstanding roots recording.

You’ll hear the influences of global roots and rock alongside hints of Chopin, Stan Rogers and Django Reinhardt. But you’ll ultimately hear The Bills, doing the magical thing that they do.

The Bills are no strangers to our series. We’ve been fortunate to have them bring their high-powered musicianship and performances to our stage several times. Join us for a wonderful Saturday evening at the beautiful outdoor stage at Castoro Cellars!
